In het Filmtheater in Hilversum wordt normaal iedere derde maandag van de maand een LGBTQ+ film getoond. Maar tijdens de Gooische Pride Month wordt er iedere maandag een LGBTQ+ film getoond. Deze avonden worden de Rainbow Nights genoemd. Dit doet het Filmtheater Hilversum in samenwerking met Stichting Gooi en Vecht Inclusief. Maandag 14 oktober ging de film \u2018Crossing Istanbul\u2019 in voorpremi\u00e8re.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Strijdend door de kou op een typische herfstachtige avond kom ik aan bij het Filmtheater Hilversum. Van de kou is niks meer te merken en word ik verrast door de aangename temperatuur binnen. De regenboogvlaggetjes staan al klaar op tafel, want de wekelijkse Rainbow Night staat weer op het programma. Het filmtheater heeft drie mooie, kleine zaaltjes en een grote bar waar bezoekers snel nog even een koffie kunnen halen voordat ze beginnen aan de film. Bij binnenkomst van de zaal krijgt iedereen een coupon om nog een drankje te halen. Ik haal vervolgens snel een warme chocolademelk om daarna lekker neer te ploffen in de blauwe, zachte stoelen van het filmtheater. Vandaag wordt de film \u2018Crossing Istanbul\u2019 gedraaid. Maar waarom is precies voor deze film gekozen? Paul van Es, een van de vele vrijwilligers van het filmtheater, legt het mij uit.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u2018Deze film is zo bijzonder omdat het een kant van Istanboel vertoont die je eigenlijk niet zou verwachten. Veel mensen hebben het idee dat Turkije homofoob is of in ieder geval vrij conservatief. Maar Istanboel blijkt daar een grote uitzondering in te zijn, dat blijkt uit de film die we draaien,\u2019<\/em> vertelt Paul.<\/p>\n<p>De bezoekers van de films tijdens de Rainbow Night zijn heel verschillend. Deze mensen komen doorgaans niet iedere week, maar juist speciaal voor de titels die tijdens de Rainbow Nights worden gedraaid. <em>\u2018Omdat dit soort films in hun interessegebied ligt, maar ook omdat ze niet worden vertoond in de Vue\u2019s en Path\u00e9\u2019s in het land,\u2019<\/em> zegt Paul.<\/p>\n<p>Doorgaans worden dergelijke films die speciaal voor een bepaalde doelgroep zijn gemaakt, niet in de Vue\u2019s en Path\u00e9\u2019s gedraaid. Dat komt omdat deze organisaties vooral de grote en bekendste Hollywoodfilms willen draaien. Het Filmtheater Hilversum kiest ervoor om zulke doelgroepfilms w\u00e9l uit te zenden. <em>\u2018Wij willen als filmtheater een zo breed mogelijk filmaanbod voor het publiek voorleggen, en het heeft dus niet zoveel zin om dezelfde titels te draaien die al in de Vue en Path\u00e9 worden vertoond.\u2019<\/em> Door een ander filmaanbod dan de Vue en Path\u00e9 bedient het Filmtheater Hilversum mensen die niet aan hun trekken komen bij de standaard Hollywoodfilms in de Vue en Path\u00e9.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Iedere maandag wordt tijdens de Gooische Pride Month in het Filmtheater Hilversum een LGBTQ+ film gedraaid.
