Olha Kovalova (27) is geboren en getogen in Oekraïne. Als opkomend kunstenaar is ze volop bezig haar carrière vorm te geven. Met een expositie op de planning en een druk sociaal leven lijkt alles voorspoedig te verlopen, tot 24 februari 2022. Op die dag valt Rusland haar land binnen, en Olha ziet zich gedwongen te vluchten. Ze moet alles achterlaten, inclusief haar kunst voor de naderende expositie. Na een intensieve reis via Polen komt ze terecht in Hengelo, Nederland. Sindsdien probeert ze haar leven opnieuw op te bouwen in een volledig nieuwe omgeving.
Olha Kovalova (27) was born and raised in Ukraine. As an upcoming artist, she was actively building her career. With an planned exhibition and a busy social life everything seemed to be going well. Until February 24, 2022. On that day, Russia invaded her country, and Olha was forced to flee. She had to leave everything behind, including her artwork for the upcoming exhibition. After an intense journey through Poland, she arrived in Hengelo, the Netherlands. Since then, she has been trying to rebuild her life in an entirely new environment.
