Met dit onderzoek komen er meer exacte cijfers naar buiten aan het einde van 2026 over het aantal daklozen in Utrecht. Eerdere onderzoekingen waren gebaseerd op schattingen en bleken dus onbetrouwbare cijfers.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>De oorzaak van het probleem is ook nog moeilijk te zeggen, de telling van dit jaar is de eerste en daarom nog een nul-meting. Gercoline Van Beek, die expertise heeft van ondere andere de aanpak van dakloosheid, zegt dat over vijf jaar een beter beeld te schetsen is.<\/p>\n<p>Nu is het wel bekend dat dakloosheid een groeiend probleem is, zelfs onder werkenden. Het is niet \u00e9\u00e9n groep die dakloos is en de woningcrisis draagt daar aan bij. Er is een tekort aan betaalbare woningen en studenten komen ook moeilijk aan een kamer, waardoor die ook onderdeel zijn geworden van de groep die dakloos is.<\/p>\n<p>Door de ETHOS-telling wordt het probleem dat lang verborgen is gebleven, beter in beeld gebracht. Van Beek zegt dat het een woonprobleem is. &#8221;Iedereen heeft recht op huisvesting.&#8221; Ze zegt ook dat de beeldvorming van dakloosheid helemaal verkeerd ligt, het zijn niet alleen maar verslaafden of mensen met psychische problemen. &#8220;Niet iedereen heeft een netwerk om een dak boven zijn of haar hoofd te krijgen.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Het Ubuntuhuis in Utrecht vangt overdag daklozen op, ondanks dat ze een kleinschalig inloophuis zijn komen daar vooral migranten. Stagair Thomas vindt wel dat er meer opvangtehuizen moeten komen in het Centrum van Utrecht omdat het aantal te groot is.<\/p>\n<p>Met de ETHOS-telling wordt eind dit jaar het exacte aantal daklozen in Utrecht bekendgemaakt en zo kan het Utrechtse beleid specifiekere maatregelen treffen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UTRECHT &#8211; Begin mei is voor de 4e keer de ETHOS-telling uitgevoerd, maar voor het eerst in Utrecht.
