Since the war in Ukraine began in February 2020, thousands of people have fled the country looking for safety and stability. Many of them arrive in the Netherlands, but what happens once they are here? The main reception centre for refugees from Ukraine is in Utrecht, and from there they are assigned to different sites in several parts of the country.
In the last few days, the centre has been full, and they have struggled in accommodating all the people. I came to the centre, which is located in Jaarbeursplein, to see how it works.
