Tuesday the tenth of October 2023, the day this radio show was aired, marked the 594th day since Russia invaded Ukraine in an escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian war, that began in 2014. The Russian invasion of Ukraine is the largest attack on a European country since the second world war, and has caused tens of thousands of Ukrainian civilian casualties, and hundreds of thousands of military casualties. That number is still growing every day.
By April this year, approximately 8 million Ukrainians had been internally displaced within the country, and more than 8.2 million had fled Ukraine by May this year. It is, today still, Europe’s largest-scale refugee crisis.
In this radio show, you will hear from experts, journalists, and help initiatives, who will provide you with their insights and personal experiences with regards to this ongoing conflict.
