In an effort to decrease emissions from transportation, a key aim of the European Green Deal is to tackle the around 25% of the EU’s entire greenhouse gas emissions that come from this sector.
At the local level, the City of Amsterdam has been actively involved in this mission since 2020 through the Green Deal Bicycle initiative. The campaign aims to create positive environmental results by advocating eco-friendly means of transportation and reshaping the city’s urban landscape.
