‘Small sustainable initiatives are just as important as bigger ones’

Sustainability plays a more important role every day. Research shows that more and more consumers are willing to choose sustainable items over non-sustainable ones.

Everyone is doing their part for a better planet, but some organizations go the extra mile. Take the Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week, for example—a major event focused on sustainable fashion. Yet smaller initiatives, like the Sustainable Market at the Uithof in Utrecht, are just as vital. At this market, organizations like the Green Office HU come together to inspire students to live more sustainably.

In this audio report, we explore why smaller initiatives are just as important as the bigger ones.

Our editor, Sascha, visited the Sustainable Market at the Uithof and spoke with Sakura, spokesperson for the Green Office, who gives us a tour of the local market. Additionally, Andy van den Dobbelsteen, professor of Climate Design & Sustainability, explains how small initiatives can make a big impact.
