Augusto Pedraza, a Latin director and actor who was born and raised in Mexico City, currently resides in Mechelen. At the age of 38, he has successfully completed numerous projects, including SMAKSLIJK, which encompasses various aspects of his artistic vision. Seven years ago, he came to Brussels to study directing. “I’m interviewing Mechelen. I’m interviewing the inhabitants of Mechelen,” he explains. Augusto is a determined individual with an open mind. He willingly puts in the effort to realize his vision, and if he encounters obstacles along the way, he doesn’t allow them to limit him. Instead, he seizes the opportunity to explore new avenues. This is how he transitioned from acting to directing. Additionally, Augusto holds a deep appreciation for dancing and always finds ways to incorporate it into his work. “I’m a frustrated dancer!” he exclaims.
