Along with the climate change movement, sustainable film production has grown in global popularity as filmmakers and producers begin to limit energy usage, transportation and waste on film sets. According to the document “Sustainability an eco-friendly movement in movie production,” the movie industry is reported as one of the most significant contributors to the global carbon footprint. The document continues stating that a film with a budget estimated over $70 million can produce nearly three thousand tons of CO2, which is equivalent to 11 trips around the moon.
